Able to stand without assistance

Was so excited on Sat. Kayden was able to stand without assistance for about 11s(max) when he was 10mths 4days old. I was assisting him in standing as usual as he wanted to see his daddy vacumming the room. He was very engrossed and i tried letting go of my hands and he remained standing. I was very excited and shouted for andy to come and take a look but the noise was too loud. When Andy came over, Kayden has already sat down. I tried again to let him stand without assistance but it failed. tried a couple of times later during the day. the longest he could stand without assistance was 11 sec as we counted '1000', '2000'. haiz... din managed to take his photo cos by the time we get our camera ready, he sat down liao.

Meaning of Kayden's Name

Well, andy and i started thinking abt his name when we first know his gender. both his sisters' children have the 'jun'(as in handsome) as the first character and i thought we have to follow suit. however we were not really for it so we decided to come up with his name ourself.

we started off with his chinese name 1st. we are supposed to choose 1 character each. He came up with 'kai'(as in calligraphy) and i came up with 'an'(as in safe), 'le'(as in happy) or 'en'(as in gratitude). in the end, we chose Kai En as his name as I really thank God for giving him to me. Was ttcing for abt half a yr before i strike. was so thankful then.

As for his English name, I preferred the name 'Matthias'as it means 'gift from God' and the children with this name (in the school I taught) are generally of good character and are well-behaved. However, think my parents and andy do not like it. my mum had a hard time trying to pronounce it (pronouncing it as 'mer tyre') haha... we really had a good laugh. finally, after looking up a couple of baby name books, we decided to name him Kayden (means warrior) as we want him to be courageous and it also sounds similar to his Chinese name.

8th and 9th Month development

It's finally the school hols but still no time to relax yet. still have a lot of tasks to complete.

just to record down some of the changes in Kayden and the things he is able to do now:
1) pull himself up and stand
2) cruise around
3) feed himself by holding onto the milk bottle

4) hold the gerber puffs or small items using the pincer grip
5) top 2 teeth erupted around 9th month
6) tear paper and tissues into small pieces
7) clap his hands
8) wave bye bye
9) say 'ma ma', 'mum mum', 'pa pa', 'da da', 'geng geng' and 'da di'.
